I wasn’t supportive of my brothers gf’s pregnancy and got punched
So we were celebrating our mother because it was her third year death anniversary and we were at the cemetery listening to music and drinking as we usually do on times like this.
I should mention my brother is on house arrest for drink driving but he was able to get time to go to the cemetery for a few hours. Before I F23 continue with what I’m gonna say I do take the blame for getting my M36 brother alcohol. I didn’t think he’d drink so much.
So he told me his gf was coming over to tell us some news (that she was pregnant) but I already knew cause I got told the day prior through the grapevine.
So they tell us and it’s kind of crickets. I just stayed silent cause it just icks me out for obvious reasons.
Later in the day I told him he needs to get his shit together. Because he’s an alcoholic and been on house arrest 7 times and I guess felt a kind of odd resentment cause my child free stance is so strong. But I do acknowledge that for some people it can be a beautiful thing, I guess.
He was drunk and didn’t like what I said and it stung him and I saw tears roll down his face. Then he started verbally attacking me and manhandling me. I shouldn’t have poked the bear while he was in that state. Then things just kind of went fast. I think I threw a plastic bottle at him, he threw a glass but it missed me. I walked away, then stupidly went back cause I was angry he started getting physical. He kicked me and I fell on my ass then he punched me in the nose. I got some measly hits in but I don’t know how to fight lol. Then we left separately.
I’m not sure what my point is with this post maybe a vent. But I’ll never forgive him for that. We live together and he apologised the next day. I accept his apology and am cordial with him and things are fine. Though that moment changed things for me on a personal level. I never thought he’d ever punched me in the face. Had it maybe of been my shoulder or something I probably would have gotten over it, but the face? No that just breaks my heart as I’m his younger sister. But I do take blame for my mistakes in the situation too. I’ll probably delete this
