Finally doing the thing

Advice

35yo female here, been vaping since 2020 and was a smoker for 5 years before that. When I started smoking, a lot of people around me smoked including my girlfriend and both my parents. Since then I'm no longer with that partner, and both parents have quit. My nieces were born and have been begging me to quit vaping because they know it's bad for me.

When I started vaping I was using disposable pens, then moved to a box mod and then back to disposable vapes when they started increasing the amount of puffs available in disposable vapes. I used to vape a 20k puff vape a week, and then that increased to a 40k puff and now an 80k puff. Each lasting me a week. Now, a 20k puff can still last me a week. So I don't entirely know how much these numbers mean in reality, but I know that it means that I'm ingesting way too much nicotine now and it's gotten to an unhealthy point.

I was just watching The Pitt and there was a patient in the episode that was a vaper, that had essentially vaped 2 packs of cigarettes in one night. I, out of curiosity, looked up how much nicotine is in an 80k puff vape and how many cigarettes it roughly equals.

And immediately threw my vape across the room right after pulling from it. That's it. I'm done. That's what it took.

Wish me luck, I'm a hypochondriac with GAD so any advice about dealing with the physical aspects is greatly appreciated. Gonna still puff here and there so I don't send my body into shock (I also have some patches from my last quitting attempt last year to help wean me down).
