New Z1E owner

I found a great deal on market place for a Rog Ally Z1E. $300 and it’s claimed to barely be touched in the last few months of ownership. I pick it up this Saturday. I’m completely new to PC’s and come from PlayStation. I’m getting this to play while I’m at work (I have 3-4 hours of nothing to do) and while I’m traveling on planes. I have AR glasses I’m going to pair this with so I think that will be a fun experience. Anyways, how viable is the Z1E compared to newer handhelds? And I’ve heard that certain things need to be messed with to fully optimize the performance of it. Any feed back is helpful cuz I have no idea how these things work. Are mods worth running to help with performance on certain games? Like frame generation and things like that?
