Cheating Question for Divorced ppl

Weather you were the one who wanted the divorce or the one who didn’t, do you think it’s better to stay married for the kids and possibly eventually cheat, or to break the marriage before you get to that point?
And before some ppl come at me, no I’m not bored, or looking for constant butterflies, I’m not a psycopath, not going through mid life crisis. Is just a question for whoever has been in that situation, do not need a life lesson
