Keystep alternatives with a better key bed?
Recently picked up a second hand Keystep mk2 (32 key one), to be used as a standalone basic sequencer for playing live. I really enjoy the arpeggiator shapes and quick transfer to a sequence, but I cannot handle the awful keybed. Ignoring the mini keys, I tend to play with my hand quite forward on the keys, so having the hinge so far forward makes dynamics nearly impossible.
For one are there any keyboards with similar live setting focused sequencers out there? I love my SQ64 but trying to adapt that to playing with other people hasn't worked.
Secondly if not, what's the recommendation for a small (2/3 octave) midi keyboard with good feeling action, velocity sensitive, aftertouch optional, that I can gut and put the keystep on top of, and run midi into.
