I built a workflow to turn visiting cards into a structured Google Sheet

I was experimenting with a simple problem today: what happens when a business collects hundreds of visiting cards from exhibitions, meetings, or events?

Normally someone has to open each card, read the name/company/phone/email, and manually type everything into Excel or a CRM.

I built a small workflow that takes the card images, extracts the information, cleans the fields, and puts the result into a structured sheet.

The interesting part wasn't actually extracting the text. The difficult part was handling different card layouts, missing fields, phone numbers, websites, duplicate information, etc.

I'm curious how people here currently handle large batches of business cards.

Do you:

• Enter them manually?
• Use an OCR app?
• scan directly into a CRM?
• Just keep the cards and forget about them? 😅

I'm testing different approaches to this problem and would be interested in hearing how other businesses handle it.
