Agree or Disagree: A non-native speaker is likely to have better grammar knowledge than a native speaker.

Discussion

Native speakers usually learn through immersion. They know what "sounds right," but can rarely explain why.

Non-native speakers, however, learn through structured study, memorizing exact rules, tenses, and mechanics from day one. As a result, they often have a much stronger grasp of formal grammar rules.

What's your take? Does formal study beat native intuition?
