Should I sell my Thinkpad T14s Gen 4 and iPad for a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1?
My Thinkpad is sort of a dud, I had to service it 2 times within the first months of buying it which largely solved some glaring issues apart from some odd screen flickering here and there (especially noticeable when on teams). It’s infrequent enough to be really difficult to get on camera as proof for the repair tickets and honestly I’ve just about had it with this shitty machine.
My iPad is a much nicer device and it hasn’t let me down, but they are quite bulky together. iPadOS and Windows do not interplay well at all and it’s frustrating that I cannot use the Windows Goodnotes web app to sync between, for example. I’m also looking to downsize some of my increasingly excessive tech set up.
I study a very macOS unfriendly CS course so my laptop has to be Windows & x86. I’m really fascinated by 2-in-1’s and it would definitely help bridge some of that awkwardness. I’m mainly looking at the Yoga series but I’m also considering investing in the higher end HP one if it is worth it. My only concerns are the hinge issues. Are they as endemic as they say?
Aside from that, the only app from my iPad I could potentially really miss is also Procreate… are there any good Windows alternatives? Thanks
