AITAH for not wanting to attend my graduation but my family want to?

English Second Language

For background, it's a diploma graduation on 18 October. I forgot about the graduation date and booked my driving test on that date. I'm already pursuing my degree so either way I'll graduate again, same university.

Now, I'm not saying I fully don't wanna attend it but I'm considering attending my driving test as it is way significant. The problem is my family (aunties and grandma and older cousins) really wanted to go there, to the point of taking unpaid leave from work just for this. I know they'll be enraged if I tell them I'm not attending it out of the blue cuz they wanna attend it but to be honest I really don't see any value in it. I hate the stage, I hate unnecessary interaction.

I just know they're gonna guilt trip me on how I'm wasting it, something like "you got dean every semester, you graduate with first class, we want to see you successful, think about what your mom gonna feel, think about the memories" like I really just couldn't care less about it, mom's dead it doesn't matter she won't feel anything. Memories don't hold much weight for me, moreover I won't even be using it on my portfolio!

Say I attend my graduation, we'll be taking pictures, they are planning on booking a hotel room the day before graduation and doing barbecue, exploring around the state. But that's it. If I don't attend it, I'll still collect my certificate later on.

But if I attend my driving test, and hypothetically I pass the test, that's a real leverage for me. Truly it'll be life changing, in any emergency I know I can be independent. I'll actually be using it and I prefer this one rather than a one day celebration just for graduating from a diploma I wouldn't even mention in my future job interview.

Truly it feels like they're trying to ride my achievement for their own pride and show it off to other people and I hate that even more. So AITAH for that?
