Additional method I'd like to share for marketing your game.
We all know the conventional routes, post on social media, create trailers, build in public, grow community, paid ads, influencer and tuber outreach, but im thinking of an additional method to try, that might even be a good use for AI. (wait.. don't roll your eyes, hear me out).
What if you created a 3js or html landing page with a mini game that was themed around your game? with a button that encourages people to visit your steam store page?
The idea of creating a landing page to funnel potential players is already out there, but what if you made a mini game that was part of the theme of your full game? Made it free and easy for people to play right in the browser?
Say you made a new RTS game, and the full game was awesome, skirmish, campaign, all the good stuff, but now you can take some of those assets and make a simple 3 round tower defense with some of your vehicles and a base, theming it to your game, making free and accessible, and utilizing that page as a funnel to get your full game? Your targeting a very similar audience? Once you get people to that page you have the opportunity to showcase your game and direct them to it.
I think it's a good use for AI if you don't have the time or money to put something fancy in, and it's a free game you aren't very attached to, it's just a funnel for your real game, so it doesn't have to be super high effort or time consuming to build. I built one out for my game in 30 min using hermes.
what are your thoughts?
