Children in Need

It is the time of year

When children are praying

When children are donating

Donating their toys and goodies

To the ill and young who are dying

 

It is the time of year

When silence begins to fade

(The time of year) When we must bring salvation back

So come on people, gather round

(The democracy begins) When we think about wealth

And not one's self

 

Children are important

But some don't even last that long

So, it is the time of year

When we must pay our respects

By spreading out their legacy, with love and care

 

It is the time of year

When we must begin to share

To share love that's fair

 

It is the time of year

When people should be everywhere

(Buying souvenirs) And giving them to somebody special

That somebody is them

 

It can't be that hard

To spend a penny or two

 

Because what I believe in is love

And to believe in love

You should too

 

Oh, think about the children

It all begins and ends with them

Oh yeah, you should be thinking of them

 

Some might say, are we so little?

Or, are we so tall?

Are we so blind?

Or, are they larger in mind?

And are always mindful, of their thoughts

 

It is the time of year

When we should be there

Because children can bring us wonders

And deliver us magic that fills the air

So, this is the year

To let it all flow

 

The rain-clouds have gone

And the sun has risen

The time of year has come

So let us have fun

 

Children getting their sprinklers out

And hearts shining bright

It is the time of year

To light our sparkles again

 

And if you succeed

You'll shortly see

The colours of wonders

Once again
