Landlord charging £1460 for 3 days

I moved out on 07/09/2026 after living in a rented property for 4 years. I gave over 3 months notice. My landlord decided to sell the house after I gave notice under a new letting agency because the current one had been so abysmal, the oven broke in December and after informing them immediately, the landlord wasn’t informed until 3 months later and the oven wasn’t fixed until June (6 months; and it was still broken as the landlord tried fixing it himself).

I had an email today from the letting agency today asking when the rent sum of £1460 would be made for the rental period 04/09/26 - 03/10/26.

We moved out on the 7th September. We made sure the house was spotless for every one of the ridiculous amount of viewings we had. We even had people showing up at the house for viewings without the estate agents even being there or informing us, and the viewers insisting that they had a confirmed booking. We left the house spotless too, have been model tenants for 4 years and never had any late payments or issues.

Now we are being charged £1460 house that we spent 3 days in. Is this even legal?
