How much do you earn to afford living in NYC?

Hi all! I’m a 30 year old woman from Germany and might be moving to NYC soon. I’ve always known it’s one of the most expensive cities in the world, but I was still shocked browsing apartments online. I’ve been asked about my desired annual salary so I’m reaching out to all of you to figure out how much I’d have to earn to live comfortably and live in a nice enough apartment in a good neighborhood.
