Dentist here (MDS). I see a lot of questions about All-on-4 and “teeth in a day,” so here’s a plain-language rundown of what actually decides whether someone is suitable.

Bone. All-on-4 uses two straight implants at the front and two tilted ones at the back. This often lets people with some bone loss skip grafting. You still need enough decent bone at the front of the jaw, though. If the jaw is very resorbed, grafting or other options (like zygomatic implants) might come into the conversation.

A CBCT scan, not just a regular X-ray. A 3D scan shows bone height, width and density. It also shows where your sinus and jaw nerve sit. If someone is quoting you for All-on-4 without a CBCT, ask why.

Your medical history. Uncontrolled diabetes, smoking, bone-affecting medications (like bisphosphonates), past head and neck radiation, and immune issues don’t always rule you out. They do need to be discussed honestly before surgery, because they affect healing.

Gum health and hygiene. Active gum disease has to be treated first. After treatment, you’ll need to clean under and around the bridge every day and keep up regular check-ups. Implants can still fail from neglect.

Grinding or clenching. Bruxism puts a lot of force on the implants and the bridge. It changes the design, and you might need a night guard.

Your smile line. If your gums show a lot when you smile, the join between the bridge and your gums needs careful planning so it isn’t visible.

Bite and space. There has to be enough room between your jaws for a strong bridge.

Same-day teeth isn’t guaranteed. Getting a fixed temporary bridge soon after surgery depends on the implants being stable enough on the day. If they aren’t, it’s safer to wait.

TL;DR: Your bone, health, bite and habits decide your suitability, not your age. Get a proper consultation with a 3D scan before committing to anything.
