Fairly new to coding, I want to learn more by doing a project and I don't know where to start
I want to learn more about coding to help give me an edge in the general field of engineering/manufacturing but mostly I just want to make a tool for myself and maybe see if I want to pursue this more.
I took a class in college on c++ and just did the onramp for MATLAB, but this is about the extent of my knowledge about coding.
The tool I want to make will import data on past soccer games and give them a score on how entertaining they might be to watch based on some parameters without giving spoilers. Should be easy enough, but I have no idea where to start. I'm tending towards wanting to make a website for the aspect of sharing it with people, but I don't have to.
I looked at The Odin Project but I'm on windows and it wants me to use Linux through dual-booting to follow the curriculum, and I don't know the first thing about Linux. I just want to get off the ground as a hobbyist. There's Harvard's CS50 but idk if it will be too in depth for my interests - I looked at Khan Academy but they didn't start with something like setting up a github account which seems pretty important from the little I've learned so far.
Course recommendations or pointers would be very appreciated. My goal is to just get through a project from start to finish and then I can go from there. Thanks.
