Am I too sensitive, or is corporate life just polished hypocrisy?

Our team admin is retiring soon. Our team lead spent months trying to get her fired and building a paper trail against her. Now that same lead is hosting the retirement party at her house for the whole team.

Everyone’s acting like it’s normal. I can’t stop seeing how hypocritical it is. Is this just corporate life? Am I the problem for being bothered by it? And this isn’t even the first time I’ve watched people act like a knife in the back never happened.

How do you all deal with this?
