[Acne] Does Hyaluronic acid makes dryness worse with tretinoin when applied to dehydrated skin?

I was just curious if anyone has felt like hyaluronic acid is making the dryness worse. My skin is already dry, and after I use hyaluronic acid sometimes my skin feels even more taut and dry later in the day. Is it possible I am using it incorrectly, or that dry skin has a different response to it with tretinoin on board. Has anyone experienced this and come up with a way to keep skin hydrated but not over-hydrate the dryness.
