As a long time Ele Shaman main...
... this ain't it chief. People are complaining about the nerfs to damage, but it's honestly do much worse than that..
Classic Shaman at its core is a support class, with both of its DPS specs being focused on burst windows. Ele Shaman in Classic was/is quite fun, you basically are managing mana as well as you can and aiming to be OOM by the end of the fight, with several different iterations of your rotation based on kill times. At its core it HEAVILY relies on World Buffs and fast kill times to do 'decent' damage.
The version of Shaman (specifically Ele) is neither leaning towards support or burst. It is being designed SOLELY as a worse Mage/Warlock with almost nothing in its kit to give it any unique edge. There is no burst in the kit to give you the dopamine in WPvP, or to scare the tank a bit at the start of the pull. There is no utility like we see Ele Shamans bring in TBC with Wrath of Air and Totem of Wrath. It is just a DPS without any if the Shaman flair we should have in a Classic+ World.
From what I am seeing so far in the Classic Talents Blizzard is a bit scared to make any class have any "MUST HAVE" buffs that didn't get pushed onto other classes. Enhance Shamans / Druids with their WF totems/aura.
I hope Blizzard possibly looks into making some major changes into some of the Shaman talents, or even as far as looking at their abilities. As it stands right now, I don't see any reason why ANYONE would play Ele Shaman when everything got SOMETHING to make them a better pick.
I have PLENTY of ideas if anyone wants to hear them :).
