20 [F4M] Is it weird that I actually prefer a little rejection play as a tease?

I was reading about this concept where someone is slightly aloof or difficult to get, and honestly, it kind of works for me. There's something about the chase, the sense that you have to earn someone's attention, that makes the eventual payoff so much more explosive. But I worry I might be reading too much into it. How do you tell the difference between someone genuinely playing hard to get in a fun way, and someone who's just actually uninterested? The tension is a turn on but I don't want to waste my time.
