Freelancers of Reddit, I’d really appreciate some advice from people currently working in web development.

I learned web development a few years ago and have experience with the MERN stack and some Next.js. Due to academics and the rise of AI, I eventually lost motivation and never actually started freelancing.

Now I want to give it another shot, but I have a few limitations, so I was thinking of starting with really simple projects, maybe $5-ish jobs at first. Things like making a simple portfolio or landing page for someone, redesigning an existing website, or fixing some small issues.

But this is what I'm really worried about, does those kind of simple jobs even exist in this ai era? Or has AI made these beginner-level jobs so disappear already?

And if they don't exist anymore, what kind of beginner-friendly web development work should I realistically expect to find when I'm just starting out?

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
