# Question?

okay i genuinely feel like ive noticed something
like why does it feel like every summer some random old show or sometimes movie from the 2000s/early 2010s just comes back and suddenly becomes massive again(has a resurgence)

# The pattern

like this summer its obviously The Mentalist. patrick jane edits are fucking everywhere and ive seen so many people suddenly watching the show or talking about it

last summer it was Dexter

2024 i remember Prison Break getting really popular again, especially michael scofield edits, and then 2023 was obviously Suits with harvey specter everywhere(also to mention American Psycho booming during the whole “sigma” phase in 2023)

and 2022 i remember seeing a lot of The Office and Breaking Bad again too

so like… why does this keep happening 😭
is this actually a thing or am i just noticing a pattern that isnt there

# Theory1(on how it gets discovered?)

because i was thinking maybe summer has something to do with it.

people have more free time, they have more time to just sit down and binge some old show theyve never watched

but then there are still a shit ton of movies and shows coming out in summer, so idk if the whole “theres nothing new to watch” explanation really works either, like even this year there were major releases in the summer like obsession, odyssey and brand new day

# Theory 2?

and then obviously theres tiktok, reels and shorts
like one person makes a fucking insane patrick jane edit and suddenly it gets millions of views, then people are like “who is this guy?” and go watch the entire fucking show 😭

# Theory3(probably connected to theory 2)

and i feel like the whole “aura farming” thing plays a massive part in this
because look at the characters that keep becoming edit material

patrick jane is an aura farmer, dexter is an aura farmer, harvey specter is an aura farmer, walter white is an aura farmer, michael scofield is an aura farmer

like these characters have one scene where they say something cold, outsmart someone, walk into a room looking cool or just do some shit that makes people go “oh shit” and suddenly theres 500 edits of it(thankfully with less phonk music)

and people fucking love the term aura farming too 😭

it literally gives people an easy way to turn a random scene from an old show into a 15 second clip that gets millions of views

# Maybe?

so maybe thats part of why these shows keep coming back. the show itself doesnt even have to go viral first. one character starts aura farming on tiktok and reels and suddenly everyone is discovering the show through that character

# What to expect?(my prediction)

Based on this pattern honestly i feel like this is going to happen again next summer too

my guesses are probably Mr. Robot, Hannibal or maybe even House M.D.

because all three have characters that i feel like the internet would absolutely fucking love for aura farming 😭

like if patrick jane, dexter, harvey specter, walter white and michael scofield have already had their runs i genuinely wouldnt be surprised if one of those three is next

# Your opinion?

so what do you guys think
have you noticed this pattern too?

and what do you think is going to be the random old show that completely takes over everyones feed next summer

or am i just seeing shit that isnt actually there

has anyone else noticed how every summer an old show randomly blows up?
