Why do I shy away from things I know I’d enjoy?
This isn’t a juicy or drama filled situation. I’m just kind of curious to see if anyone has the same feelings / has any advice.
Sometimes I’ll come across something, like a book for example, I read the blurb and think “I would love this.” But then I’ll put it down and walk away from it. Then I’ll have other opportunities to read it and I’ll just let them pass me. This is also sometimes the case with films, recommendations, music. The thought of enjoying it almost makes me feel anxious? I have history with anxiety and although this situation isn’t directly impacting my day life, why don’t I want to indulge myself in something I’m confident I love?
I know I’ll have to do some soul searching on this one, but anyone have any thoughts?
