My (43 F) bf (M52) and to move out after 2 years of living together

My boyfriend and I live together. He wants to move out. He says I dont keep the house as clean as he likes it and it triggers a reaction in him from childhood. He's had some recent family events that probably make everything worse. My house is my dirty but there are things like dust bunnies and it could probably use a deep clean. I offered to try a maid service. He told me no. He told me he couldn't see moving back in for the foreseeable future.

He says he still wants a relationship. I'm not sure what kind. Two months ago we were talking about marriage. Now he wants to move out. Is there a path forward? Should there be? I love him and I know he loves me. This wasn't easy for him and he gets upset when I cry but I can't really help it this time.

I thought he was my one. Now I honestly feel lost and unlovable. Has anyone successfully stepped back and made it work?
