I recently installed Carbon Racing inclined handlebar risers on my Honda CB350RS and noticed there is a small gap between the handlebar clamp/cap and the riser on the rear side of both bolts.

The front side of the clamp appears to be seated properly, but there is a visible gap on the rear side. The handlebar itself feels very sturdy and there is no noticeable movement or play.

The installation was done at a Honda service centre. The technician said the setup is fine and that there is nothing to worry about.

However, I am concerned about the bolts being used.

The bolts supplied with the Carbon Racing risers were used first to secure the risers to the bike. Then the original Honda bolts were supposed to be used to secure the handlebar clamp/cap to the risers.

However, the technician said the original Honda bolts were slightly too long for the Carbon Racing risers, so they found some shorter bolts from their toolbox and used those instead.

I don't know the exact specification, grade, thread pitch, or thread length of these replacement bolts.

The handlebar currently feels solid and doesn't appear to move, but I'm concerned about whether using random shorter bolts could cause a problem over time, especially since this is a steering/handlebar mounting point.

My questions are:

1. Is a small gap between the rear of the handlebar clamp and the riser normal?

2. Should the clamp have a gap on one side when properly tightened, or should it sit completely flush?

3. Is it safe to use different/shorter bolts for the handlebar clamp if the original Honda bolts are too long?

4. How much thread engagement should there be inside the Carbon Racing riser?

5. Could incorrect bolt length or insufficient thread engagement cause the handlebar to loosen over time?

6. Does anyone know the exact bolt size, length, thread pitch and grade recommended by Carbon Racing for the clamp-to-riser bolts?

7. Should I replace these bolts with the exact bolts supplied by Carbon Racing?

The bike is a Honda CB350RS and the risers are Carbon Racing inclined risers.

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has installed these risers on a CB350/CB350RS/H'ness or is familiar with the correct hardware.

The handlebar feels completely solid right now, but the gap and the use of unknown bolts are making me a little concerned about long-term safety.
