Unused iPhone 16 Pro vs. iPhone 17 in BBD Sale — Which makes more sense, and what are my chances?

I’m currently in a dilemma and could use some advice from the community. I have two options on the table:

Unused iPhone 16 Pro: 128GB variant, 100% battery health, and only 77 battery cycle count.

iPhone 17: Buying it brand new in the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days (BBD) sale.

I have two main questions:

1. Which device should I choose?

Is it better to grab last year’s Pro model for the 120Hz ProMotion display, the telephoto lens, and the premium titanium build, or does it make more sense to go with the brand-new base iPhone 17?

2. What are my actual chances of successfully buying the iPhone 17 during BBD?

The BBD early access starts on October 8, and current estimates suggest the iPhone 17 might be discounted to somewhere between ₹68,000 and ₹78,000. However, I know how notorious Flipkart sales are for instant price hikes, payment gateway crashes, and items going out of stock in seconds. Does anyone have experience trying to grab the newest generation base iPhone during BBD? Is it a realistic plan, or will the bots beat me to it?
