FURTHER UPDATE: Slow responder, 12.6kg down and finally under 180kg! 🥳
FURTHER UPDATE: 12.5mg, 12.6kg down, and the scale that could never weigh me finally did 🥰
I wanted to come back with another update because many of you followed my earlier posts and encouraged me when I genuinely felt that my progress was too slow.
In my last update, I had reached 181.3kg and had lost 8.7kg. I was finally beginning to see better results after moving up to 12.5mg.
Fast forward to today:
Started Mounjaro: 29th December 2025
Starting weight: 29 st 11.4 lb (189.8kg)
Weight at my previous update: 28 st 7⅝ lb (181.3kg)
Current weight: 27 st 12¾ lb (177.2kg)
Loss since my previous update: 4.1kg (9lb)
Total loss: 12.6kg (27.8lb), which is approximately two stone
Loss during the past four weeks: 2.8kg (6.2lb)
I honestly cannot believe I am writing this.
There is another scale in our house with a maximum capacity of 180kg. Previously, only my husband could use it because I was above its limit and it could not weigh me.
Today I stepped onto that scale and, for the first time, a number appeared.
It gave me 178.55kg, which is slightly higher than my usual scale, but I genuinely did not care. The fact that it could finally weigh me felt like one of the biggest milestones of my journey. It was physical proof that I had crossed a limit that once felt impossible.
I have now been on 12.5mg for around three months, and this dose has continued to work well for me. I am hoping to remain on it until towards the end of the year, provided my prescriber is happy, rather than rushing to move up.
Looking back at my journey, I believe I am a slower responder. I did not experience dramatic losses on the lower doses. It was around 10mg that I started seeing more noticeable movement, and 12.5mg has given me my most consistent progress.
I also want to mention calories because whenever someone says they are losing slowly, the immediate response is often “calories in, calories out.”
I understand that calories matter. However, before Mounjaro I weighed my food, counted my calories, tracked what I ate and tried to maintain a calorie deficit, yet the scale barely moved. I am not saying that calories are irrelevant, but for me, simply being told to count them did not reflect the full reality of what I was experiencing. Mounjaro has helped me manage my appetite and remain consistent in a way that counting alone did not.
I also followed up with my GP as mentioned in my previous post. My checks did not show PCOS, and I did not start metformin.
My latest HbA1c was 38 mmol/mol, which remains within the normal range. Before Mounjaro, when I was following a very strict low carbohydrate and low sugar diet, it was 36 mmol/mol. I now eat a little of everything, so I do not consider the two results a direct comparison. Both are normal, and overall I feel that my health and eating habits are moving in a much better direction.
If you are a slower responder and you keep seeing people post enormous losses, please do not assume that your journey is failing.
I previously felt deflated because my progress did not look like everyone else’s. But the smaller losses continued to accumulate. I kept going, and somehow those small changes have now become 12.6kg.
Progress does not have to be fast to be meaningful. ❤️
Sometimes perseverance is simply continuing when the results are not yet impressive. Then one day you look back and realise that your body has changed, your numbers have changed, and even the scale that could never weigh you finally can.
To every slower responder reading this, please do not give up. Your progress still counts, and your story is still being written. ❤️
