Ignorant Cyclists

I am beyond exasperated with the majority of cyclists in Edinburgh right now. It’s a daily occurrence to notice an abundance of them running red lights when pedestrians are crossing. Cycling on the pavement and expecting you to move. Cycling on the wrong side of the road.

This is mainly delivery drivers and the VOI bikes but regular cyclists too of course. When you call them out for it they just hurl abuse at you and then you look like the bad guy in front of the public. But if the police were to hypothetically get involved then they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on!

Kids that are 12 and under (I think) are allowed to cycle on the pavement and that’s fine, but these are fully grown adults disobeying the laws.

I don’t drive a car so don’t label me as a driver who just hates all cyclists. But I am however, a pedestrian who has nearly been hit by numerous cyclists over the last couple months whether it’s on the pavement or they’ve come out behind a bus when I’ve already looked before crossing the road.
