Replace broken jewellery?

Long story short my baby broke my mums pearl bracelet that she was gifted. My partner and I wanted to replace it however thinking about it I wonder whether it’s served its purpose and not to get her pearls again?
My baby literally just dropped the bracelet on the floor and the elastic broke sending the pearls scattering all over a church despite it being tugged at and pulled many times before by her. We took it as a sign of the bracelet absorbing something bad.
What should I do?
