Going to madrid

Flying from Jerez to madrid artiving in the afternoon. Then fly out to Lisbon the next day at 6pm. Looking for best area to stay overnight in madrid maybe do a little sightseeing the next day then get to airport . Any Suggestions on what area to stay in for hotel that wont take up to much time to get to and from airport
