Follow, Unfollow, and Selective Outrage
So, a few hours ago, there was a post where the OP mentioned that Saher had unfollowed Sajal. I assume the intention of the post was to have some tea and not to shade either of the two actors.
But then Bilal fans (who have apparently just discovered that they like Saher too đ) jumped in with long paragraphs about how Sajal supposedly lacks manners and common courtesy for not following Saher back, and how this is apparently such a big deal.
Then a two-minute search showed that Bilal doesnât follow Sabeena, while she follows him. So, where did all that âcommon courtesyâ go now? đ Iâm sure there will be plenty of explanations and, of course, more downvotes.
My point is not to hold celebrities accountable for whom they do or donât follow. Following someone can mean different things to different people, and celebrities are free to decide whom they want to follow.
We really need to draw a line between what celebrities actually owe their audience and what they absolutely donât owe us. A follow on social media is certainly not a measure of someoneâs manners, character, or relationships.
