5700x to 5800x3d for better lows?
So I hate stutters and low 1% lows. This is one of the reasons I usually don't feel that good about starting a new game, as it always feels like it will stutter any second on my rig.
I play at 1440p on a 180hz monitor with these specs:
Ryzen 7 5700x - PBO: +150mhz boost clock, -15 curve optimizer, 120w power draw (85 tdc, 120 edc if i remember correctly)
RTX 5060ti 16gb Asus Dual OC - bought before price increases
32 gb ddr4 Corsair Vengeance ram at 3200mhz XMP profile 1
550 w Corsair TX550M PSU gold rated
Msi B550-A pro motherboard
I experience stutters and high variability in fps in several titles, including Minecraft (low gpu usage), Valheim (100% gpu usage at High Settings, playable other than stutters), and Star Wars Lego Skywalker Saga.
Something in me really wants to experience pc gaming without this feeling that the game is just one travel moment or even just cutscene moment away from stuttering, but I am unsure if a 5800x3d would really fix that - I know I am gpu limited in many games, but I have just read/researched that a 5800x3d could help 1% lows.
So maybe if there are any of you 5800x3d owners with a rig similar to mine, I would really like to hear from your experience!
