Poker Scam Speed Test: Which Message Would You Trust for 10 Seconds?
You post an account question. Ten minutes later, three Reddit DMs arrive:
A — “I’m a moderator. Send your login name and one-time code so I can restore your account.”
B — “You’ve received a private reward. Open this shortened link within 10 minutes or it expires.”
C — “Please don’t share private information here. Contact support through the official app or website you normally use.”
C is the safest response—but you should still open the official channel yourself instead of trusting a link supplied in a DM.
Scammers rarely begin by asking directly for money. They usually begin with authority, urgency or an offer that discourages verification.
Your turn: what single phrase in A or B would make you block the sender immediately?
Never send passwords, 2FA codes, payment information or remote-device access through Reddit. X8 Poker moderators will not request these details by DM.
