My sister's ex boyfriend of around a year recently started taking drugs and so she broke up with him. He'd still come once in a while and have a meal and she'll let him take a shower because she kind of felt bad for him and was secretly hoping he'd get back on track.
Anyway I was at her place, brought food and we were having a good family time with my sister and nephews(they're not his kids)
While that was happening, he was at neighbors upstairs and tried calling her but she didn't pickup.
He saw me leaving( another family member lived in the same apartment complex) and got extremely upset and the rest was as follows:
There's a video of him coming from upstairs and grabbing a chain from my sister's porch. He's wearing a hood so his face isn't clearly visible but you can see his facial hair and the way he walks us quite recognizable.
Chain is later found in my cars back window amounting to $780 damage in parts alone.
I contacted him to have him pay me in cash.
We meet up in a private parking lot, I record the entire conversation without him knowing.
He starts lecturing me on how I'm being disrespectful to him as head of the household by showing up whenever I feel like it, not knocking etc. And he's putting me in my place and I'm lucky the car got damaged because it could've been me.
Mind you this is the first time he has ever said anything to me in regards to my behavior.
I have a great relationship with my sister and treat her place as a second home and that's been the case long before he ever showed up on the scene.
Basically he refused to pay for the car and said don't catch him in a bad mood.
I then called the cops, told them he made threats, provided photos of the damage and video of him grabbing the chain. I agreed to press charges and be a witness if called to court.
I forgot to mention I had the conversation recorded but will send it to them later.
He's currently on probation for something, not sure what.
Also has a protection order for his last wife and kids.
What's likely to happen to him?
I'm concerned that he will sit in jail for 5 days and come out even more pissed off and potentially come after my sister/kids or myself.
Don't really care about protection orders because once someone decides to take violent, action, that won't stop them and the police aren't always 30 seconds away.
