Medicaid/ Long - Term - Care state of Ohio Renewal
My wife was diagnosed with dementia in 2020 at 56 years old. She was approved for Medicaid and went into a nursing home. I was going through a business failure. In 2021 I applied for and was granted Long Term Care for her which separated our finances. I also have guardianship.
I'm doing the yearly renewal for Ohio Medicaid. I called in the renewal and they want more information. They are requesting the last three months bank accounts for her; she doesn't have any accounts. From me they want a copy of my Medicare card and award letter. A copy of my Social Security Award letter (I took SS at 62 and am 67 now), and verification of self employment income. I am not making that much money and am not concerned about that. I don't see why they need my Medicare card and SS info. I'm not applying for anything for myself. I've had a couple of people cause problems for me and I'm careful about what information I give out.
Up til this year the renewal was pretty routine. Why would they need the Medicare & SS info?
