LDR / AM I WASTING MY TIME
OK, let’s see how this goes. So sometime in August, I decided to go on a girls trip and out of nowhere downloaded Tinder, although initially was very much against it , not sure why. Maybe I just couldn’t see myself on it. I also recently just got out of a five-year relationship, four of those years I was engaged. We had some differences, kids being a big one, and he just couldn’t get it up and didn’t wanna work on that certain part of our relationship. Anyways, that’s not why I’m here. I’m here because I met someone on that trip and it has been fireworks ever since. I was not going to pursue the relationship, but he seemed extremely interested and it’s been about two months and we’re still talking, about three weeks ago he asked me to be his girlfriend, extremely nonchalant and I was a bit hesitant considering that I just got out of a really long relationship and I kind of wanted to keep my mind open to new possibilities, however, I realize more and more that I just wanna be with this person. We both have extremely busy lifestyles, and I realize that this kind of suits, what I’m doing right now in my life. I’m 30 I have two jobs, he also has a very demanding occupation and we both fill in the rest of our time being physically active. I never have to worry about him going out and about because he carries me around, we sing karaoke, we cook together. However, there are some days that he makes it questionable to love him. Anyways, I kind of brought up the concept of being exclusive again, and although he agrees, I noticed that he does not agree with saying the words, I love you. And then proceeded to say that he really really likes me, but we’re in a long distance relationship and considers it childish. At some point in a long distance relationship or any relationship I feel that I would need somebody to reciprocate that because it’s an emotional need, and I am, very loving unforgivably type of person, I go all in or not at all. He’s introduced me to friends calls me his misses and does a lot of things that makes me feel very secure, but I did notice that when he said that it makes me realize that maybe he’s not thinking of everything Long-term and that I might just be some type of security blanket. I’m not sure I just want help and I want someone to maybe say something, but I don’t want to hear but need to. We have the same time zone, a flight is five hours away, and due to his busy lifestyle he doesn’t see us rekindling or see each other physically probably within another nine months. He has experience with long distance, I don’t. Anyways, I’m not sure if I should just nip this in the ass and save myself more time and heartbreak later on because I’ve grown extremely emotionally attached to this person. What do I do, what should I consider.
