Gitanjali Senior School is one of the best schools in India

Having completed the ICSE course from the Gitanjali Senior School and spent over 12 years with this institution, today I will be telling why this school is amongst the best in the country.

Firstly, looking inside the classrooms at this school you will realise that one of the biggest advantages is the student to teacher ratio. Gitanjali provides a wonderful student to teacher ratio.

The teachers here are the best teachers you will ever find. There's certainly something in the hiring process at Gitanjali which gives us these teachers and we're truly grateful to have them.

Secondly, At Gitanjali, there is a VERY strong emphasis on providing notes to the students. There's no other school in Hyderabad from where my friends have been that tell them to write so much notes. Gitanjali prepares you for the uncertain.

It's almost over 20 years of experience individually these teachers carry IN EDUCATING and not just degrees to flaunt. 20 years of seeing what works and almost about 75+ years as an institution.

Third, the small campus it has. Of course you would be thinking how's this an advantage. I would say it's an advantage and a disadvantage. Advantage because due to this small campus, while being in Gitanjalj, I have made so many friends regardless of what class they come from.

In other schools in Hyderabad, you can barely get out of your class.

This makes Gitanjali more than a school. It makes us a family. After graduating from this school I have realised the amount of trust and comfort I feel around my fellow Gitanjali-ians. Gitanjali makes your mental health somewhat better.

Of course being a small campus Gitanjali lacks the extracurriculars area hence not being able to provide students who can get into prestigious universities abroad but it certainly provides the academics part of it.

If your goal is to study in India, Gitanjali is the place to do so.

Fourth, the exams. I scored extremely low in the exams I gave at Gitanjali. My parents almost did not believe when they looked at the results I got in boards. The admissions teacher at my new school asked me how did I mess up so bad in my school examination.

The thing is, Gitanjali tests your students in a way no other school can ever do. They are given consideration of the minute of things. Forgetting a full stop in a biology exam. But it is these very things that impresses the board examiners and gives us the leverage of being 100.0% perfect!

The question papers are like on another level when you compare with the schools. It makes the students motivated and work hard so much that the board exams would feel SO EASY. and having learnt so much extra information, they put that information in the board paper which truly makes the correcting examiner kiss the answer sheet.

My last point would be it's fees. I was paying almost 3 times the fees I would have given if I were in Gitanjali at my new school I switched to. I believe Gitanjali is already one of the best schools in India but if you consider the fees you're paying for it. I have no doubt on giving it #1.

Here are reasons not to send your child to Gitanjali:

1. You're applying to the United States or a foreign country wherein the top universities require more than academics.

If that is your reason what I would recommend you to do is to send your child at Gitanjali Senior School till 10th grade and then send him to 2 years of a really good/international school. Trust me. This will make you child smarter than the other kids and if he can utilise those 2 years of extracurricular activities at his new school then he is certainly not going to be missing out on anything.

2. A lot of notes. If you or your child cannot write a lot of notes and has issues with handwriting, I do not recommend this school to you.

If you think Gitanjali is where you are supposed to be try consulting the administration if they can waive off you completing your notes because what they do is send you the notes on Google Classroom and ask you to copy it in your notebook. Instead just ask if your child could carry a print out of it.

The thing about Gitanjali Senior School is that they are not like the other schools talking about some bs holistic development etc.

It is practical and focuses on major areas of shaping an individual. It made me look at things and understand within a second something is not enough. This makes the students at Gitanjali critical thinkers. When they enter the corporate world. They bring dramatic change. They make a difference and elevate whatever organisation they work in.
