I built Claude Code's /insights for Codex (open source): private workflow reports + a shareable Codex profile

Showcase

Switching between Claude Code and Codex, the thing I missed most was /insights, so I built a Codex skill for it.

  • $insights writes an HTML report on how you use Codex: projects, tools, failures, and suggestions. It's local-only by default with no model calls; a model-assisted mode is opt-in and shows a token estimate first.
  • codex-session-insights profile exports the stats from Codex's private profile page (lifetime tokens, streaks, daily/weekly/cumulative activity, top skills and plugins) as a static page you can host on GitHub Pages. It never includes prompts, thread titles, or file paths.
  • On macOS it can update itself and republish your profile on a schedule.

Install: curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mangeshraut712/codex-insights/HEAD/scripts/install.sh | bash, then type $insights in a new Codex thread.

Repo (MIT): https://github.com/mangeshraut712/codex-insights. It's a community project, not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic. Feedback and PRs welcome.
