Opus 5.5 keeps you in the loop
I moved to Codex with GPT 5.5, and, since then, I have always sticked with Codex, it was always better than Claude, and I really like how smart are the Astra models.
What I started missing immediately about Claude was the "staying in the loop" by having it ask for approval for edits, and then telling it how to behave differently. Of course, this way of working no longer makes sense, as models now code better than me, so I had no reason to leave Codex.
I just tried coding with Opus 5.5, and I got the feeling of staying in the loop again. When it is not sure about some system design choice, it doesn't make up a reason to go for it, but it says what information we need to decide. When it is preparing a report on the work, it asks for the reasons why I decided to make a certain change, instead of going with the plausible explanation.
I don't feel my brain atrophying as with Codex (which, reiterate. is still extremely good).
As soon as my Codex Pro (5x) expires, I am gonna finally go back to the Claude Max (5x).
