Possibly the most fun I have in WOW.
Day one I tried Undead for the first time and Paladin for the first time... I swear on a stack of bibles that I had no idea that race/class combo was going to be so popular.
I admit that I cursed the controller layout, "Why cant it just be the same as Elder Scrolls Online!?" Then by day two I realized it kinda is like ESO, with minor differences. You slot stuff where you are most comfortable. Day three I decided to make a Sky Elf Mage, I have never played Skelf or mage.
I left 17 years ago after Wrath, and just a few weeks into Cata. I dont remember anything other than building a decent rotation for leveling. Clueless on professions.
I have to say by day three I was having a blast. Following people leveling and helping take down mobs, and eventually most would wait for me to tag on and then help with mine as we would leapfrog taking turns. I got added to a few parties and felt like I was an asset with my Fireball and level 2 frostbolt, even polymorphed a few for crowd control.
The layer system seems pretty cool, every area is well populated but I only had rare occasions where I felt like I was waiting around for something to spawn. I camped a few of the elite quest bosses and laid down some DPS after people arrived and tagged it first. Without a guild, or a set group I felt useful. I have never been added to so many groups. Ran around some caves, found some chests, killed some mobs and as one group would leave another one would come along and add me.
I honestly just tried it to see if I even would like WOW after ESO, crimson Desert, Ark and 7 days to die.... None of those games give me the safe feeling, or make casual grouping up feel so natural.
I started playing WOW when I was a young fella, fresh out of an 8 year stint in the Army Infantry. Now I am a 55 year old retiree living in Thailand. The game feels just as fresh as it did back in TBC when the portal first opened. Thankfully tomorrow is my day off from the gym.. because it 4am and I want to roll a night elf hunter for the first time. I always played horde, but I was always jealous of how cool a night elf looked on that big tiger or whatever the mount was. I dont know how they did it after so many years, but they really made something to finally reel me back in.
