**Congratulations are in order for Ken Pomeroy.** [As we reported last week](https://www.kosu.org/ken-pomeroy-americana-emerging-artist), she was a winner at the Americana Music Association’s 25th Annual Americana Honors & Awards in Nashville on Sept. 16. The Cherokee folk musician was named Emerging Artist of the Year over fellow nominees Kashus Culpepper, Boy Golden, Crowe Boys and Mon Rovîa.

Pomeroy — who is from Moore, but now resides in Tulsa — [performed her song “Days Getting Darker”](https://www.youtube.com/live/kOkOkxeUoSY&t=4669) at the awards ceremony.

The song is featured on her highly-acclaimed 2025 album [*Cruel Joke*](https://kenpomeroy.bandcamp.com/album/cruel-joke), which was nominated for Album of the Year. That award ultimately went to Tyler Childers’ album *Snipe Hunter*.
