Mobile healthcare teams: what usually throws your day off?

Discussion

I work in mobile vascular access, where a schedule that looks fine in the morning can be outdated by lunch.

I’m curious how this works in other mobile services—portable x-ray, ultrasound, wound care, mobile dental, IV infusion, labs, or anything else where the team goes to the patient.

What usually throws the day off, and what happens after that?

For us, it could be a facility that isn’t ready, an urgent call getting added, or one visit taking longer than expected. Then someone has to reshuffle the plan and make sure everyone affected knows what changed.

If you work in the field, handle dispatch, or run a mobile team, what part of keeping the day moving creates the most calls, texts, or back-and-forth?

If you’re comfortable sharing, what kind of mobile care do you do and roughly how big is the team?
