Test Drive Narrative…

…has always bugged me.

Mission 1 of the FP has you piloting prototype quad mechs against clueless Gov forces to test out how the quads perform. This works, makes sense.

What doesn’t work is the enemy composition. The Gov forces have two lances, one of mech/vehicles (all good here) and one of… quad mechs? Wait, the new type of mech were supposedly field testing? Where did the Gov get those, who is supposedly completely unaware of our test, get those?

It’s a little thing, for sure, but it bothers me every time.
