One of my favorite blender uses started as an accident

I was making a sauce one day and accidentally added way more of one ingredient than I meant to.

Usually that's the point where I'd sigh and start over, but I figured I'd blend it anyway and see if I could balance things out afterward.

The texture came out much smoother than I expected, and that actually made the extra ingredient work better than it probably would've if everything had stayed chunky.

I ended up adjusting the seasoning and adding a little more liquid, and the mistake turned into something I liked enough to make again.

What stuck with me wasn't really the recipe. It was how different an ingredient can seem once you change its texture.

Since then, I've been a little less quick to assume I've ruined something just because I added too much of one thing. If it's going into the blender anyway, sometimes blending it gives you another way to fix the balance.

Not every accident needs rescuing, obviously. I've definitely had batches where the only solution was admitting defeat.

But this one turned into a pretty useful blender habit: before throwing something out, I sometimes wonder if changing the texture can save it.
