DM doesn’t approve my availability, but SM really wants to hire me — what should I do?

So both interviews went really well! However, the DM doesn’t seem to approve of my availability, which I honestly feel is still pretty good considering I’m a current grad student (which they’re aware of).

There’s only one day out of the week that I absolutely can’t go in, and I’m even willing to work an opening or closing shift on the other days to make it work.

I’ve kind of been in limbo because the store manager really wants me and has been advocating for me, but I haven’t heard anything since last Friday.

I don’t want to reach out again because I don’t
want to come across as annoying or pushy. 😭
What do y’all think? Should I just wait it out, or would it be okay to follow up? Any similar experiences?
