Does prose work?

Does prose for wavy hair actually work? I’m lost about what to do with my hair. It’s coarse, thick and frizzy. It’s hit or miss with looking good and I can’t find the right product to keep it soft and not frizzy. Creams tend to make me look oily and weighs everything down. And other products cause me to breakout. Help.
