Flushing research: a measured outcome is not every claimed benefit
A study can show a measurable change without establishing every benefit people attach to it. If the claim is better flavor, a measurement of nutrient concentration alone cannot settle the question.
The Grow Pops flushing episode compares what two studies actually examined. One investigated plant chemistry and yield; the other included sensory ratings. The discussion also keeps their different crops, media, and designs in view.
A result that is not statistically significant should not be promoted as proof that one treatment tastes better. At the same time, failing to establish a benefit is not proof that every possible treatment or condition is identical.
