Multi-instrumentalism?

Hey everyone,

I’m curious to know how many of us here are strictly saxophonists versus multi-instrumentalists.

If you do play other instruments, what are they? Did you start on the saxophone and branch out, or did you come to the sax from something else (like clarinet or piano)?

Also, how do you feel your other instruments impact your saxophone playing? Does doubling help your jazz improvisation, your sight-reading, or your understanding of music theory, or do you find it difficult to split your practice time?
