Gizmo needs to turn into a Gremlin in Gremlins 3. Let me explain...

In both movies, turning into a gremlin doesn't turn the mogwai evil. If anything it enhances the traits and personality of them. In both movies, the mogwai are gremlins for a short time. The first movie was somewhere around 6 hours I would guess. and the second movie it's only for like 2 to 4 hours (both in movie time not runtime obviously)

Now let's assume at some point gizmo has to save the day like in the last two. Or at least defeat the big bad gremlin. The only fresh new way I can think for them to approach this is to turn Gizmo into a gremlin. Maybe a new young character accidently feeds him after midnight, of Gizmo purposefully eats something because it's the only way he can save who ever he needs to save from the bad gremlins.

When Gizmo turns he becomes a big (for a gremlin) badass gremlin and just starts fighting all the bad gremlins like he was The Hulk. He saves the day and then since we don't know what happens to a gremlin after say 24 hours (despite what the novel adaptations say) They can have Gremlin Gizmo cocoon again and then come out a cute cuddly mogwai. Everyone gets a happy ending including the producers if they want to make Gremlins 4.
