Hi everyone! I just need to let my frustration out because I genuinely feel so bad for my best friend. For context, this isn’t my story. It’s my best friend’s.

My friend met someone on Viber Dating. He claimed to be a Singaporean and a marine engineer working in Australia. They had been talking for almost a month. (I know, short palang) But he seemed like a good guy. He said he was a “Christian,” an only child, and that he had also come from a long-term relationship that didn’t end well, similar to my best friend’s experience.

Of course, I was supportive because after years of heartbreak, my best friend finally met someone she seemed happy with. The guy appeared genuine because they would video call, and at one point, he even messaged my best friend’s dad after they had a slight misunderstanding. So I was like, okay, give ko na to baka seryoso naman.

Fast-forward to three weeks into their talking stage, the guy was already planning to come to the Philippines to “visit” my best friend and meet her family. He even sent a legit flight ticket with his name on it.

At this point, I was already a little suspicious because he had SO MANY plans despite them barely knowing each other. He was promising my best friend that he would bring her to Australia, settle down with her, and would even ask my bestie’s parents for permission to marry her because, according to him, they were already at the right age.

My best friend didn’t believe everything right away, of course. She would just respond with “okay” whenever he talked about all these plans. Still, she was willing to see where things would go.

Then came the plot twist.

Yesterday was supposedly the day of his flight to the Philippines. His itinerary was Australia → Korea → Cebu → Clark. Everything seemed normal at first. He was constantly updating my best friend about his whereabouts, his flights, and how much he missed her. 🙄

Then he landed in Cebu.

Suddenly, he claimed that he was being held by immigration because he allegedly had a large amount of cash in his luggage.

In my head I was like sir, if you’re really a frequent international traveler, you should know that carrying a suspiciously large amount of cash in your luggage can raise questions. And exactly HOW MUCH cash are we talking about that you’d supposedly be detained and asked to pay a “fine” for it?

But it gets even more ridiculous.

According to him, he listed my best friend as his emergency contact. Then someone allegedly claiming to be an immigration officer called my best friend and told her that she needed to help him.

Basically, they wanted HER to pay the supposed fine.

I WAS LIKE, SERYOSO BAAAAHHHH???

He was even pressuring my best friend to go all the way to Cebu to “save” his ass as if Pampanga to Cebu is just a quick drive 😭

And then he supposedly told her that she should just pay for him and he would just pay her back once they met in Clark.

I WAS LIKE… NO NO NO. Don’t fall for that crap.

Anong tingin nya sa kaibigan ko, hindi nag grade 2??? Lol.

Thankfully, she didn’t fall for it.

Sorry not sorry, **CHRISTOPHER LIAM CHEONG**. You picked the wrong person to try this on. You think you can fool us? Try harder next time.

HAS ANYONE HERE HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH THE SAME GUY? **CHRISTOPHER LIAM CHEONG** ??? Hell I know if that’s even his real name.
Kahit hindi na sa kanya, pero same scheme? Nakaka high blood!!!
