Can someone recommend study skills classes? I'm learning for the first time.
Hey everyone,
I plan to take a study skills class before spring classes. I was homeschooled, and studying is totally new to me.
Basically, I'm 21 and will be taking an Introductory course that's also a prerequisite this spring, with plans to take a 20-15 credit course load for a BS starting the following fall. The situation is I had encephalitis in my first year of high school; I failed all my classes and was totally lost. As a result, I was pulled out and put in an all-homeschool setting. I never read textbooks and rarely wrote even short essays. I've also never taken notes or used any type of study tools/skills. My main cognitive struggles are reading comprehension and moving things from short-term to long-term memory. I also have ADHD that's been worse since my incident.
I'm thinking I should take a study skills class this fall and would appreciate any recommendations or useful tips/tools you can share.
Thanks
